Making A Plan

"Planning is half the battle"

"To be prepared is half the victory"

"Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you're ready or not, to put this plan into action."

All these quotes stressed the importance of planning. To achieve my GOALS, I need to devise a PLAN to achieve a TARGET.

Goals:
1. To lose weight
2. To get fit & healthy

Target:
Lose 15 kg in total

Plans:
1. Drink more water
2. Eat healthy
3. Exercise

These plans seem simple enough to follow but you know what they say "it's easier said than done"! Change is hard. I am not going to make that BIG leap in a single bound. Let me be more realistic. Instead , I will make small, gradual changes and build on small successes. Sooner or later, I may be running the marathon for all you know (.......or maybe not to such extent because I hate running).

In my subsequent blog-posts, I will elaborate on how I am going to put my plans into action.

  1. To lose weight is good but is hard to do becoz at our age the body has been programed to store energy. My advice is dont set a "lose weight target", because you will get discouraged when its not achieved. Instead concetrate on " to get fit & healthy"... But set a more define target. As for me, when first biught my bike, the target was to cycle 1000km in a year. A modest but achieveable target. I did it in 10 months.... and it felt good. Current target is 1200 km / year... and now at 68%. Since I have this target... i will try my best to cycle everyday, either early morning, evening or nite after work.

    1. Target has to be set otherwise there will be no benchmark. Initially, target was set at 10 kg loss in a month but in 3 months would be more realistic....maybe 6 months! As long as I lose that "spare tyre".

    2. What I mean is set target but not weight related... say.. Running 50 km in 1 months, or average speed of 6km/h. Unless you have a personal trainer, nutritionist etc.. and a proper exercise time table.. 3 kg in

    4. Ok Ok..... let me revise my target to 15 kg in 1 year. Coz that's my final target weight loss. Take it slow & steady considering my middle-aged status!

  2. And of course when target is reach, there must be a reward... so reward yourself. I bought a new offroad (MTB) when hit the 1000km mark. Now starting to berjinak jinak dengan off road lak... a bit more adventurous but less monotonous then roadbike
